Harry Belafonte: Day O

I post produced some photos. Here they come all at once. They're from Uganda... I think that might be a bit obvious. Photos from the first couple of days. Our first trip to the Baby's home and some of the beautiful children. I figured, just post them all cuz who knows when I will have the time and energy to post again.

We've been listening to Harry Belafonte at bath time. I think it makes it a little more fun.

Finally posting some more pictures from Uganda. Looking through all of them I have to say that I miss being there. I'll post more pictures eventually, there's still a lot more of them.

People Say We Monkey Around

Hey, hey, we're the monkees

And people say we monkey around,But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.

The Monkees: Hey hey we're the Monkees

We've managed to print and put together a photo album of our time in Uganda. Now I just need to find some time to pick pictures and load them up. I figured, why not start with an obligatory monkey photo from our trip to the zoo.

Still working on taking a picture everyday. Getting them online is a little tougher.

The Pearl of Africa's Crown

Uganda
Oh Uganda! may God uphold thee,
We lay our future in thy hand.
United, free,
For liberty
Together we'll always stand.

Oh Uganda! the land of freedom.
Our love and labour we give,
And with neighbours all
At our country's call
In peace and friendship we'll live.

Oh Uganda! the land that feeds us
By sun and fertile soil grown.
For our own dear land,
We'll always stand:
The Pearl of Africa's Crown.

Ugandan National Anthem

Okay so I was actually considering using the song "Africa" by Toto. I figured it would be okay because we heard it when we were at the beach at Lake Victoria, but quite frankly it is an awful song. I know that I like some songs that could be considered "guilty pleasures" that are bad songs, so I don't feel bad in calling out Toto for such a terrible song. It's okay to like it, just admit that it is terrible. Also, Toto is a stupid name for a band.

Anyway, besides bashing on Toto, I am working on getting the pictures from our trip to Uganda on to the computer, touched up and printed, and made into a slide show for Theo's birthday party. It's going to be a bit of work. To start with here is a picture I took of a globe at our friends' wedding. Uganda is right there in the middle. Here's a little bit closer view to wet your whistle.
