You really caught me, dear

The Bride and Father of the Bride

The Groomsmen

Lovely Dan

The bottom the earth i have to fall
but you really caught me
you really caught me, dear
at the bottom where i'd fallen.

Band of Horses: Part One

Our friends Jamie and Riley got married recently. It was quite the day. Sometimes the right people meet each other and it's just obvious that they are meant to be together. Everybody can see it. It just makes sense like so few things do in the world. It makes me very happy to see two friends together and so perfect for each other.

I've got a couple more pictures to post from their special day. I just need to remember to have a drink after I post so I don't get so overly sentimental. But hey, everybody gets choke up at a wedding right?

No more airplanes, or speed trains, or freeways

I wish the world was flat like the old days
Then i could travel just by folding a map
No more airplanes, or speed trains, or freeways
There'd be no distance that could hold us back.

Death Cab For Cutie: The New Year

We flew down to San Diego recently and it was the first time I had spent any time at Seatac in a long time and I liked it. We sat for awhile in the eating area where they've put in large window where you can sit and watch planes land and take off. If made me feel like a little kid again.

Here's my travel tip for you: Leave the mini bottle of conditioner and bring a mini bottle of booze, the flight will be more enjoyable.

And we frolicked about in our summer skin

Squeaky swings and tall grass
The longest shadows ever cast
The water's warm and children swim
And we frolicked about in our summer skin

I don't recall a single care
Just greenery and humid air
Then Labor day came and went
And we shed what was left of our summer skin

Death Cab for Cutie: Summer Skin

We just spent a fabulous Labor Day weekend down in San Diego with two of our favorite relatives. A lot of time on the beach and not enough sun screen has me literally shedding my summer skin.

It's kind of gross.

Everyone loves the king of the sea

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!

Flipper Theme song

We went to Seaworld on Friday. It was pretty sweet, but the highlight was definitely when we got to pet a dolphin. Unfortunately I didn't learn to speak their dolphin language which was a key part in building my dolphin army and becoming ruler of the sea, but that's probably for the best.
