Might as well jump

I get up, and nothing gets me down.
i like to jump. and then go round and round
And I know, just how it feels.
You've got to roll with the punches to get to what's real
Oh can't you see me standing here,
I'm getting ready for a soccer scene I ain't the worst that you've seen.
Oh can't you see what I mean ?

Fire it up, Fire it up

Prepping the vases

 Prepping flowers

 The Rehearsal
 Our fabulous friend Meredith
 Meredith #2
The Winckoski family (the nicest family you will ever meet)

It honestly was beautifully done
Like trying to hide the daylight from the sun
Even if we had been sure enough, it's true we really didn't know
Even if we knew which way to head, but still we probably wouldn't go

Modest Mouse: Fire It Up

Recently our friends Jamie and Riley got married. We were fortunate enough to get to spend the day before helping to prep and attending the rehearsal. They are two of my favorite people and both their families are wonderful. It was an honor to be included.

I promise to post some pictures from the big day too.

Two Points for Honesty

Katie before competition.

Doug, Katie's dad and our friend too

Competing 1

Competing 2

If that's all you will be, you'll be a waste of time
You've dreamed a thousand dreams, none seem to stick in your mind
Two points for honesty
It must make you sad to know that nobody cares at all

Guster: Two Points for Honesty

Okay, so I suppose the lyrics are a bit melodramatic, but I realized last night how long it's been since I even picked up my camera. I'm hoping to renew my sense of purpose about photos and get off my butt. Lately I've made it a point to leave my Alpha at home so I focus on being in the moment and not lugging the weight around with me. Now though it's time to get back to it. In order to relearn I'm going manual on my settings. No more taking auto-focus, No more auto setting. If I could figure out how to turn off my LCD screen I would do that too. The goal is to go back to that sense of feeling like I'm using my Olympus OM-1. Hmmm... maybe I should see if i have any film lying around while I'm at it.

Anyway, these are some pictures from our friend Katie's dressage competition. She got a big ribbon for her beautiful Friesian horse, Joe. He's such an impressive animal and whenever I am around him I am just in awe of his size.
